Hi! Welcome to Zombies for Breakfast (and Other Curiosities). I’m Kait, your strange and uncoordinated authoress.
I work as a secretary in Indiana, not far from Gotham City, where I mostly spend my time Netflix-bingeing on old seasons of Doctor Who, day dreaming about how I’d decorate my apartment if I had the funds, and trying to coax my cat out of her hiding spot inside my couch. I like yoga, running, cheese, and beer. (These great loves affect each other adversely.)
Once upon a time, in 2011, I lived and worked in Costa Rica, which is where I was when I started to establish my little nook on the internet. You can read about my Costa Rican adventures here, and see where I killed a VERY VENOMOUS SPIDER here.
When I’m not outlining my Zombie Apocalypse Survival Plans, I’m just your typical twenty-something trying (and struggling) to get my life in order. I’ll do anything to get out of doing my laundry.
I’m pretty goofy and friendly, so if you want to chat you can tweet me @kaiwilli.
Why do you eat Zombies for breakfast? Well, I normally make them for dinner and then keep the leftovers and eat them cold in the morning. It’s weird, but I like them better when they’re a day old.
What’s awesome? Sauce.
What’s your best game? Cards Against Humanity, I guess. Or hide and seek.
Did you teach English in Costa Rica? Yes and no. During my first visit there, I lived and taught English in Manuel Antonio for a month while I received my TEFL International certificate. After TEFL I came home for a brief month and a half, then returned to CR where I interviewed for a really shady teaching position, turned it down, and then worked as a freelance content writer and social media guru for a few companies. I moved back to the US after spending exactly a year there (January 31, 2011–February 1, 2012). I’ve got more info on my TEFL adventures here.
I saw that poem you wrote. Are you a poet? Sort of. I have a degree in English with a Concentration in Creative Writing, and I mostly took poetry classes for the creative writing requirements. So yeah. I’ve got more poetry over here.
Where did you get your degree? Miskatonic University. Also, Indiana University Bloomington.
Is this your first blog? Nope. I first started blogging for a great site called The Girly Nerds, which is sadly no longer in existence. Now I blog here, and I also write a column for Kate-Book.com.
What have I got in my pocket? “Not fair! not fair!” he hissed. “It isn’t fair, my precious, is it, to ask us what it’s got in it’s nassty little pocketsess?”
Do you have a boyfriend? Yep. He’s awesome.
Would you be interested in freelance work? YES. Contact me, please.
Does this page contain a drinking game? Why yes, it does! Count the number of nerd references on this page. Then drink that many shots (or drinks), plus 3 more for good measure. No matter what number you count–you win! Cheers, my dears!
